Everything went according to plan in Caloocan City where eighth ranked Phoenix (4-5) outscored bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite (0-9) 114-92 on Saturday. Phoenix outrebounded Blackwater Elite 50-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 52.8 percentage. Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Justin Chua (198-89) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Phoenix players scored in double figures. Guard Mike Tolomia (191-93) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Eduardo Daquioag (180-91) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
