Regular Season Round 5: Hotshots - Blackwater Elite 94-78

Bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Hotshots (5-1) 94-78. Hotshots made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Blackwater Elite was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Andy Barroca (176-88) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Four Hotshots players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Kelly Nabong (201-88) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Mike Tolomia (191-93) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hotshots moved-up to second place. Blackwater Elite lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
