Regular Season Round 12: Beirut Club - Hoops 80-56

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Beirut Club (#2) and Hoops (#6). Beirut Club (8-2) smashed visiting Hoops (5-5) by 24 points 80-56. Beirut Club brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. It was a good game for the former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-90, college: F&M) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Sergio El Darwich (193-96, college: Maine) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Four Beirut Club players scored in double figures. The former international Habib Abdallah replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Georges Choueiry (184-95) added 15 points in the effort for Hoops. Hoops' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Beirut Club maintains second position with 8-2 record behind leader Dynamo, which they share with Sagesse. Hoops at the other side keep the sixth place with five games lost.
