Regular Season Round 10: Anibal - Atlas 84-101
Date: April 22, 2021
Bottom-ranked Anibal is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Atlas (5-2) 101-84 on Thursday evening. Atlas forced 21 Anibal turnovers and outrebounded them 58-41 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Forward Marc Abi Kheres (197-94) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Joseph Zaloum (180-90) supported him with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals. Atlas' coach Brent Ragsdale used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by Andre Tannoury (195-1) did not help to save the game for Anibal. Tarek Mitri added 21 points and 6 assists for lost side. Four Anibal players scored in double figures. Atlas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sagesse and Champville. Loser Anibal still closes the standings with seven games lost.
