Regular Season Round 10: Turan - Okzhetpes 71-43

No shocking result in a game in Turkestan where third ranked Turan (9-2) smashed 6th ranked Okzhetpes (4-7) 71-43 on Saturday. Turan outrebounded Okzhetpes 51-40 including 38 on the defensive glass. Turan looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Ukrainian power forward Ganna Rulyova (183-1986, agency: BIG) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian Vladyslava Voloshyna (177-2000, agency: BIG) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. Coach Vitaliy Lopatin's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Russian swingman Kristina Goncharuk (175-2001, college: E.Florida St.) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Russian center Alexandra Kuzmitskaya (193-2002) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Turan have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Astana Tigers and Aktobe. Okzhetpes at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tomiris. Turan will meet league's second-placed Astana Tigers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okzhetpes will play against Caspiy Aktau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
