Regular Season Round 4: Al Jubaiha - Al Ashrafiyah 97-78

Bottom-ranked Al Ashrafiyah is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Al Jubaiha (2-2) 97-78 on Friday evening. Al Jubaiha outrebounded Al Ashrafiyah 63-44 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Al Ashrafiyah's players. The winners were led by Guyanese-American forward Kevin Mickle (201-1993, college: Ohio) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Mitri Bosheh (180-1996) supported him with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Al Jubaiha's coach Yousef Abu Baker used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by American guard Terrence Joyner (190-1988, college: MVSU) did not help to save the game for Al Ashrafiyah. Sultan Bassam added 14 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Al Jubaiha maintains third position with 2-2 record having just two points less than leader Orthodox, which they share with Al Riyadi. Al Ashrafiyah at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Al Jubaiha will meet league's leader Orthodox in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Ashrafiyah will play against Al Riyadi (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
