Regular Season Round 3: Kofer Yoba - Orthodox 62-92

An exciting game was played in Irbid. Orthodox faced Kofer Yoba. Guests from Amman (3-0) smashed host Kofer Yoba (1-2) 92-62. Orthodox forced 21 Kofer Yoba turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Freddy Ibrahim (190-1996, college: Tampa) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. The former international forward Ahmad Alhamarsheh (197-1987) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. Five Orthodox players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ghazi Al-Salah (-2000) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and American guard DeCardo Day (196-1998, college: Alabama St.) scored 13 points. Kofer Yoba's coach Ibrahim Abu Asous gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Orthodox's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Amman Al Ahli.
