Second Stage Round 4: Al Ahli - Al Wihdat 53-87

The most interesting game of round 4 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Al Ahli (10-4) by first ranked Al Wihdat (11-3) who outscored them by 34 points 87-53 in the game for the first place. It ended the three-game winning streak of Al Ahli. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Al Ahli 47-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Miles (184-1989, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international point guard Mahmoud Abdeen (191-1987) who added 27 points during the contest. Four Al Wihdat players scored in double figures. At the losing side Yousef Al-Awamleh responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Ahmad Obeid (200-1990) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Wihdat have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-3 record. Defending champion Al Ahli dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Orthodox.
