Regular Season Round 25: Chiba - Shiga L-Stars 105-68

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Lakestars (25-11) on the court of first ranked Chiba on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Chiba 105-68. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lakestars' 42. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chiba made 9 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Shiga L-Stars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) stepped up and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba (33-3) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place which they share with defeated Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with 11 games lost. They share it with Kumamoto V.. Chiba are looking forward to face league's leader Shiga L-Stars at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
