There was no surprise in Aichi where 17th rankedScorpions (7-21) were defeated by eleventh ranked Swoops (13-17) 89-78 on Sunday. Gifu dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Scorpions 's 40. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gifu made 7 blocks. American center Baylee Steele (213-1997, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American-Dominican forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swoops have a solid four-game winning streak. Gifu moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tokyo Z and Shanan Utd. Toyoda lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost.
