Regular Season Round 27: Nagasaki - Hiroshima D. 68-86

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Dragonflies (13-13) won against on the road 4th placed Nagasaki (13-13) 86-68 on Sunday. Hiroshima D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hiroshima D. made 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) accounted for 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Power forward Nick Perkins (203-1996, college: Buffalo) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Nagasaki in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hiroshima D. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Nagasaki. Nagasaki lost fourth consecutive game. Hiroshima D. will meet at home higher ranked Akita NH (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nagasaki will play against Shinshu and hope to secure a win.
