Rather predictable result when second ranked Koshigaya A. (8-3) beat on the road 4th placed Shizuoka (6-5)89-83 on Sunday. Koshigaya A. outrebounded Shizuoka 49-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Shizuoka's players. American forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) chipped in 21 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Yuzo Okada (180-1992) responded with 24 points and 5 assists and Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) scored 20 points. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Koshigaya A. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Chiba, which they share with Kumamoto V. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars and Yamagata.
