Not a big story in a game when 4th placed Shizuoka (6-5) was defeated at home by second ranked Koshigaya A. (8-3)88-74 on Saturday. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shizuoka's 28. They outrebounded Shizuoka 33-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and point guard Yuzo Okada (180-1992) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Koshigaya A. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Chiba, which they share with Kumamoto V. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars and Yamagata.
