Regular Season Round 5: Aranmare A. - Toyota A. 50-84
Date: October 28, 2023
Rather predictable result in Akita where leader Toyota A. (5-0) smashed 7th ranked Aranmare A. (2-3) 84-50 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Toyota A. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Aranmare A.'s players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Kadysha Umezawa (190-1998) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Mai Kawai (171-1996) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Guard Asuka Hiramatsu (162-1994) produced 20 points and center Niang Kumba (190-1999) added 5 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Toyota A.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Eneos S. and Denso I. Loser Aranmare A. keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Toyota A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aranmare A. will play again against Toyota A. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
