The game between closely ranked teams ended with Chiba Jets' road loss to Nagasaki 86-89 on Monday. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Forward Justyn Mutts (201-1999, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman DJ Stephens (195-1990, college: Memphis) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Nagasaki and four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Nagasaki will meet Toyama G. on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chiba Jets will play against Shinshu BW and hope to win that game.
