Regular Season Round 1: Kanazawa - Kagoshima 71-87

Another exciting game was played in Ishikawa between Kagoshima and Kanazawa where Kagoshima beat Kanazawa on the road with 16-point difference 87-71. Kagoshima made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Kanazawa turnovers. Kanazawa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Joshua Crawford (211-1988, college: Indiana St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian forward Stephen Hurt (211-1993, college: Kansas St.) added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Kanazawa. Five Kanazawa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagoshima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again at home against Kagoshima to get more than just one victory in their record.
