Regular Season Round 57: Nagasaki - Ehime OV 89-95

The game between second ranked Nagasaki (41-18) and fourth ranked Ehime OV (26-32) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Nagasaki was defeated by Ehime OV in a tough game in Nagasaki 89-95. Ehime OV looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Nagasaki helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Filipino-Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) who recorded 25 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ehime OV maintains fourth place with 26-32 record. Newly promoted Nagasaki keeps the second position with 18 games lost. Ehime OV will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nagasaki will play again at home against Ehime OV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
