Regular Season Round 56: Ryukyu GK - Hitachi SRT 73-72

Fourth-ranked Hitachi SRT (25-30) made lots of trouble for second ranked Ryukyu GK (44-11) in Okinawa on Saturday. Ryukyu GK managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected easier game. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Hitachi SRT 43-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds and power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) who added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward James McAdoo (206-1993, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hitachi SRT players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 44-11 record having just six point less than leader Shimane SM. Hitachi SRT lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 30 games lost. They share the position with Osaka E.. Ryukyu GK will again meet at home Hitachi SRT (#4) in the next round. Hitachi SRT will have a break next round.
