Regular Season Round 53: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 82-85

Eighth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (12-39) made lots of trouble for second ranked Ryukyu GK (41-11). The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shiga L-Stars. They outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 47-32 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Josh Duncan (203-1986) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American forward DeQuan Jones (203-1990, college: Miami, FL) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 41-11 record having just six point less than leader Shimane SM. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the eighth position with 39 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.
