Regular Season Round 53: Ehime OV - Saga B. 70-72

Fourth-ranked Ehime OV (25-31) gave a tough game to first ranked Saga B. (42-14) in Matsuyama on Saturday. The visitors from Saga managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ehime OV. Saga B. made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Takanobu Nishikawa (195-1992) chipped in 18 points. Saga B.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saga B. maintains first place with 42-14 record. Ehime OV at the other side keeps the fourth position with 31 games lost. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ehime OV will play again at home against the league's leader Saga B. (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
