Regular Season Round 53: Koshigaya A. - Fukushima 76-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Koshigaya A.'s (43-13) home victory over 3rd placed Fukushima (27-29) 76-72 on Saturday. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Brekkott Chapman (206-1996, college: Weber St.) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and Naoaki Hashimoto (183-1992) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Koshigaya A.. They maintain second place with 43-13 record having just one point less than leader Chiba. Loser Fukushima dropped to the fourth position with 29 games lost. Koshigaya A. will again meet at home Fukushima (#4) in the next round. Fukushima will have a break next round.
