Regular Season Round 50: Ryukyu GK - Kyoto H. 83-77

Everything went according to plan in Okinawa where second ranked Ryukyu GK (38-11) won against 7th ranked Kyoto H. (18-31) 83-77 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Josh Duncan (203-1986) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian-Filipino guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK maintains second position with 38-11 record having just six point less than leader Shimane SM. Loser Kyoto H. dropped to the sixth place with 31 games lost. They share the position with San-en NP. Ryukyu GK will again meet at home Kyoto H. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Kyoto H. will have a break next round.
