Regular Season Round 49: Shizuoka - Okayama 100-85

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Okayama (27-23) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shizuoka (40-10) 100-85 on Sunday. Shizuoka made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Yuzo Okada (181-1992) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-1991) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Shizuoka and four Okayama players scored in double figures. Okayama's coach Kenji Hilke rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka moved-up to third place, which they share with Kagoshima. Loser Okayama keeps the seventh position with 23 games lost. Shizuoka will meet Shanan Utd (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okayama will play against Toyoda (#8) in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
