Regular Season Round 44: Tokyo HT - Kanazawa 84-81
Date: March 17, 2023
Rather expected game when 13th ranked Kanazawa (15-31) was edged on the road by tenth ranked Tokyo HT (15-31) 84-81 on Friday. Tokyo HT looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Spanish center David Doblas (208-1981) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists by Ukrainian point guard Igor Boyarkin (182-1995, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa. Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) added 23 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Tokyo HT went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Kanazawa. Kanazawa lost third consecutive game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
