Regular Season Round 41: Yokohama BC - Kawasaki BT 81-78

Round in B1 League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Yokohama where host Yokohama BC (25-15) edged league's leader Kawasaki BT (24-16) 81-78 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Yuki Kawamura (169-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 assists. American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Yokohama BC's coach Taketo Aoki used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-1991) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yokohama BC have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Kawasaki BT at the other side dropped to the second place with 16 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Yokohama BC. Kawasaki BT will play next round against strong Gunma CT trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Yokohama BC will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Akita NH on the road.
