The game in Tokyo supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Iwate (33-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Tokyo Utd (23-15). Iwate smashed Tokyo Utd 86-64 on Saturday. Iwate forced 20 Tokyo Utd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Baylee Steele (213-1997, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Harumichi Ishikawa (170-1999) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) who recorded 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Ren Kawashima (180-1994) added 7 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iwate have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 33-5 record having just one point less than leader Shizuoka. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
