Regular Season Round 36: Toyoda - Gifu 94-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Aichi where 8th ranked Gifu (15-22) was defeated by ninth ranked Toyoda (15-22) 94-88 on Saturday. Toyoda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Australian center Andrew Ferguson (213-1998, college: CS Monterey) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian center Matas Jucikas (205-1994, agency: BIG) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gifu's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyoda moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Gifu. Toyoda will again meet at home Gifu (#8) in the next round. Gifu will have a break next round.
