Regular Season Round 32: Kanazawa - Kagoshima 75-92

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kagoshima (26-7) beat 11th ranked Kanazawa (10-23) in Ishikawa 92-75 on Saturday. Kagoshima outrebounded Kanazawa 54-31 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-1989, college: UIS) supported him with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Even 15 points by point guard Akitoshi Oguri (174-2001) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa. Point guard Yugo Okuda (176-1999) added 15 points and 6 steals for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima maintains fourth position with 26-7 record. Kanazawa lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Shanan Utd. Kagoshima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again against Kagoshima (#4) and hope to secure a win.
