Regular Season Round 18: Toyota A. - Hitachi Cougars 81-68

WJBL top team - Toyota A. (17-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Hitachi Cougars (9-9) in Nagoya 81-68. The former international forward Mika Fujitaka (178-1989) scored 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Mai Yamamoto (163-1999) chipped in 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-1997) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Hoshi Aka (170-1995) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-1 record. Hitachi Cougars at the other side keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Toyota A. will play against Toyota BSR (#5) in Aichi in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play at home against the league's second-placed Mitsubishi K. and hope to get back on the winning track.
