Regular Season Round 30: Bambitious N. - Nagasaki 94-101

Everything went according to plan in Nara where second ranked Nagasaki (21-11) beat 6th ranked Bambitious N. (9-23) 101-94 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bambitious N. 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-1980, college: Otterbein) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Nagasaki players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-1987, college: Cincinnati) who recorded 25 points and 9 rebounds and American-Portuguese Jeremiah Wilson (205-1988, college: Tarleton St.) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second position with 21-11 record having five points less than leader Saga B. Loser Bambitious N. keeps the sixth place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Kagawa FA. Nagasaki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bambitious N. will play again against the league's second-placed Nagasaki (#2) and hope to secure a win.
