Regular Season Round 32: Kawasaki BT - Ryukyu GK 82-93

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kawasaki BT (18-13) in Kanagawa on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Ryukyu GK (23-8) 93-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-1990) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and American power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) who added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) responded with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-1988, college: Northeastern) scored 24 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Kawasaki BT at the other side dropped to the second position with 13 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kawasaki BT will play again at home against Ryukyu GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
