Regular Season Round 15: Haneda V. - Hitachi Cougars 69-75

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Hitachi Cougars (8-7) won against 11th ranked Haneda V. (3-10) in Tokyo 75-69 on Saturday. Hitachi Cougars made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Hitachi Cougars outrebounded Haneda V. 55-31 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Hoshi Aka (170-1995) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-1997) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Swingman Takano Hashikouta (168-1995) came up with 19 points and the former international guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-1993) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Haneda V. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hitachi Cougars. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chanson V-M. Haneda V. lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Hitachi Cougars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Haneda V. will play again against Hitachi Cougars (#7) and hope to secure a win.
