B3 League top team - Shizuoka (24-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Gifu (10-16) 84-56. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Gifu's players. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-2 record. Gifu lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Tokyo HT. Shizuoka are looking forward to face Tokyo HT (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gifu will play against Shinagawa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
