WJBL top team - Toyota A. (13-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Haneda V. (3-9) in Tokyo 100-41. Toyota A. held Haneda V. to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Toyota A. had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Haneda V.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Chinatsu Umeki (168-2000) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Mika Fujitaka (178-1989) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Yukino Awatsu (180-1998) answered with 9 points and point guard Hotaru Kabashima (162-1999) added 4 points in the effort for Haneda V.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota A. have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-1 record.
