The game in Gifu was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Okayama (16-8) played at the court of 8th ranked Gifu (10-14). Okayama defeated Gifu 85-74. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Gifu. Strangely Gifu outrebounded Okayama 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Gifu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Yusuke Mukai (194-1981) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-1991) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Okayama's coach Kenji Hilke allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Okayama moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yokohama EX. Gifu at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Okayama will play against higher ranked Saitama (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gifu will play against the league's leader Shizuoka (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
