Regular Season Round 22: Gifu - Okayama 74-72

The most exciting game of round 22 in the B3 League took place in Gifu. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Okayama (15-8) to eighth ranked Gifu (10-13) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Gifu outrebounded Okayama 47-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Okayama helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Gifu players scored in double figures. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) produced 8 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Kouki Wakasa (185-1997) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gifu have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 10-13 record. Okayama lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Gifu are again looking forward to face higher ranked Okayama (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Okayama will have a break next round.
