Regular Season Round 22: Kagoshima - Iwate 77-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Renova. Third ranked Iwate faced their biggest opponent Kagoshima. Guests from Iwate (19-4) defeated host Kagoshima (20-3) 82-77. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Kagoshima. Iwate dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 26. Iwate forced 23 Kagoshima turnovers. Kagoshima was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 9 rebounds. Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Aruma Hamada (178-1997) added 14 points in the effort for Kagoshima. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Iwate have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-4 record having four points less than leader Shizuoka. Kagoshima at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Iwate will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kagoshima will play again at home against Iwate and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
