Regular Season Round 20: Tachikawa - Saitama 72-91
Date: December 17, 2022
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Saitama (16-5) rolled over on the road 14th ranked Tachikawa (6-15) 91-72 on Saturday. Saitama looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American Grant Sitton (206-1993, college: Victoria) who scored that evening 23 points and the other American import power forward Ryan Watkins (206-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Saitama players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) did not help to save the game for Tachikawa. Point guard Ryusei Abe (181-1995) added 11 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Saitama have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 16-5 record. Newly promoted Tachikawa keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Saitama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tachikawa will play again against Saitama (#4) and hope to secure a win.
