Regular Season Round 10: Yamaguchi - Shinagawa 88-78

Bottom-ranked Shinagawa (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-78 loss to eleventh ranked Yamaguchi (4-7) in Yamaguchi. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Shinagawa turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Haitian-American forward Jeff Coby (203-1994, college: Columbia, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. American power forward Michael Phillips (202-1990, college: Howard) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Shinagawa. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamaguchi moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kanazawa. Shinagawa at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Yamaguchi will again play against bottom-ranked Shinagawa (#16) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Shinagawa will have a break next round.
