We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (5-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Kagawa FA (3-8) 84-74 on Tuesday. Kagawa FA made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Marvelle Harris (196-1993, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Drew Gordon (206-1990, college: N.Mexico) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Fukuoka R.'s coach Moncho Lopez tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagawa FA maintains sixth place with 3-8 record, which they share with Fukushima. Loser Fukuoka R. dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Aomori W.. Kagawa FA will meet higher ranked Saga B. (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fukuoka R. will play against Tokyo Z and hope to secure a win.
