Regular Season Round 6: Fujitsu RW - Yamanashi QB 65-66

Important game to mention about took place in Kawasaki. Thirteenth ranked Yamanashi QB (2-4) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging top-ranked Fujitsu RW (5-1) 66-65 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. Point guard Honoka Tsuchida (165-1997) notched 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Aika Watanabe (177-1995) supported her with 20 points. Yamanashi QB's coach Kanji Kaneko allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds by forward Fujimoto Aki (182-1998) did not help to save the game for Fujitsu RW. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yamanashi QB moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars. Fujitsu RW at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Yamanashi QB will play against higher ranked Eneos S. (#7) in Kashiwa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fujitsu RW will play at home against Hitachi Cougars (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
