Regular Season Round 9: Tachikawa - Tokyo HT 70-58

Date: November 6, 2022
There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Tachikawa (2-8) defeated at home higher ranked Tokyo HT (5-5) 70-58 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Ryusei Abe (181-1995) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 7 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import power forward Justin Baker (203-1989, college: Utah Valley) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tachikawa moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Gifu. Loser Tokyo HT dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Tachikawa will meet higher ranked Kagoshima (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tokyo HT will play against Veertien Mie (#12) and hope to secure a win.
