There was a minor upset in Nagano where 4th placed Shinshu BW (4-5) was edged by sixth ranked Yokohama BC (3-6) 76-75 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for Yokohama BC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The former international guard Yuki Kawamura (169-2001) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American Devin Oliver (204-1992, college: Dayton) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yokohama BC maintains sixth place with 3-6 record, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Yokohama BC will meet at home league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
