Regular Season Round 2: Tokyo Z - Yamagata 69-87

There was a minor upset when Tokyo Z was defeated at home by Yamagata 87-69 on Sunday. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-1991, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Elijah Thomas (206-1996, college: Clemson, agency: MSG) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Robert Sampson (203-1992, college: Georgia Tech) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata will meet at home Chiba in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
