Finals Game 2: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 71-87

Toyota Antelopes defended their WJBL title. They overcame Fujitsu Red Wave in the second game of the championship series to complete the sweep and conquer the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Fujitsu RW managed to win third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 44-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. Toyota A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Sokhna Sylla (200-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The former international center Stephanie Mawuli (182-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Toyota A.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-1991) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
