Regular Season Round 54: San-en NP - Kyoto H. 63-58
Date: April 17, 2022
There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Kyoto H. (13-37) lost to eleventh ranked San-en NP (10-39) in Hamamatsu 58-63 on Sunday. German center Elias Harris (203-1989, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Justin Knox (206-1989, college: UNC) supported him with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Kyoto H.. His fellow American import center David Simon (208-1982, college: PFW) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. San-en NP maintains eleventh position with 10-39 record. Kyoto H. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 37 games lost. San-en NP will meet league's second-placed Shimane SM on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kyoto H. will play against Hitachi SRT (#6) and hope to secure a win.
