Regular Season Round 52: Bambitious N. - Ehime OV 74-78

There was no surprise in Nara where 7th ranked Bambitious N. (9-36) was defeated by fifth ranked Ehime OV (23-22) 78-74 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Ehime OV's coach Takeo Mabashi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American Greg Mangano (208-1989, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-1990, college: Marquette, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Ehime OV maintains fifth position with 23-22 record. Loser Bambitious N. keeps the seventh place with 36 games lost. Ehime OV will meet league's second-placed Kagawa FA in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bambitious N. will play against the league's leader Kumamoto V. (#1) and hope to secure a win.
