Regular Season Round 49: Fukushima - Aomori W. 101-66

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Aomori W. (2-39) was crushed on the road by third ranked Fukushima (28-13) 101-66 on Sunday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) stepped up and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-1993, college: Northeastern) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-1990, college: S.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima maintains third place with 28-13 record having five points less than leader Kumamoto V. Aomori W. lost twenty third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 39 games lost. Fukushima will meet Bambitious N. (#7) in the next round. Aomori W. will play against the league's second-placed Sendai 89ers and hope to secure a win.
