Regular Season Round 21: Chanson V-M - Aishin AW 66-78

An interesting game took place in Shizuoka where higher ranked Chanson V-M (11-11) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Aishin AW (6-10) 78-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin AW. Chanson V-M managed to win third quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-1994) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and June Mineharu (171-1999) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Kuke Haruka (166-1995) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Mai Yoshida (175-1998) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin AW moved-up to eighth place. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Aishin AW are looking forward to face higher ranked Toyota BSR (#7) in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chanson V-M will play at home against Hitachi Cougars and is hoping to win this game.
