The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Hokkaido L.'s (12-21) road loss to eighth ranked Yokohama BC (13-19) 79-85 on Sunday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international Masaaki Morikawa (190-92) who scored that evening 21 points and American forward Leyton Hammonds (203-94, college: OK State, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 5 assists by American DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) did not help to save the game for Hokkaido L.. His fellow American import forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) added 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC maintains eighth position with 13-19 record, which they share with Osaka E.
